Local trainer Roy Rogers looks to have a fairly nice type in ZETORIO. The 3YO Oratorio Gelding made it two wins in a row, taking out the MAGIC MILLIONS HANDICAP at Belmont Park yesterday in impressive fashion.
With pacifiers on, Zetorio again sat off the pace with Jason Whiting positioning wide with cover behind SECONDA VITA, before pushing off heels to display an authoritative sustained sprint to hold off DISTANT TRILOGY and DAINTY PAT.
Rogers other runner of the day PIECE D’RESISTANCE went unplaced.
Des Atwell’s STARRY UNIVERSE also went around in the J.J RICHARDS AND SONS HANDICAP, was prominent early in running , but faded away to finish 5L sixth, never the less it was an improvement on gelding’s start a week prior.
On Saturday, Steve Wolfe has accepted with Group 3 winner, LORDHELPMERUN in the HAPPY 90TH BIRTHDAY LEO LOUGHNAN PLATE and is currently a $2.70 second favourite with TABTouch. His other acceptor is MR PAGO in the KIRIN MEGUMI HANDICAP.
Wolfe and fellow Albany trainer Jonathon Jachmann are expected to start horses at Northam on Sunday.
